When summer wheat is plumping, the second Solar Term in summer, Grain Buds, has arrived.
Northern China's temperature is climbing to a full summer, while in south, rain season is filling up river and lake.
Chinese ancestors treat Grain Buds as the God of Silkworm's birthday, when they worship her by making the spinning wheel move. It is also the prelude of a busy farming season. Farmers work day and night for a bumper year.
"Autumn of Wheat", a word commonly seen in ancient Chinese poetry, also starts from Grain Buds.
It may represent ancient Chinese's philosophy. Do not be tied in season's frame that set by others. Once you were ready, go and bloom and gain. A flower has its living clock; a bunch of wheat has its own calendar, and each of us has our own harvest season.
